Massamba ( Sam ) is on the camera now. Sam is a Oldenburg mare by Samber bred to Bente D for a Friesian Warmblood. We are hoping for a pinto also. As of today she is at Day 315.
Last year we lost her foal when she foaled premature at day 318. So we are watching close and hoping she will hold out for a while.

Thanks for helping out...Sam is at day 318 today. This is about when she lost her foal last year. Depending on her ovulation it was either 318 - 319 days. Today she has no bag or milk and she never bagged up last year either. Her croup is dropping and she was getting loose and jiggly around her tail and the point of her buttocks. My fingers are crossed that she will hold on but this is a big difference between yesterday and today. I would like for her to hang in ther about 2 more weeks.

I bet you were having trouble because our camera was off. We usually put it on from 9 pm to 9 am EST.
Hope you can see it at night ok.

Sam update: Sam is now day 322 so we are feeling better that we can get a live foal now. She is still not bagging up but did not last time either. Her croup is dropping and she is getting very loose behind.

Hi! I'm Sam's mommie! Well her "human" mommie. Sam is a wonderful mare. I bought her in Germany about 5 years ago from a former German Olympian, Otto Ammerman. Otto had originally bred Sam for his daughter but she quickly out grew Sam as "she" the daughter, finished over 6.2! haha.. Anyway, lucky for me. Sam's real mom is a solid black Oldenburg, daughter of Volturno, Otto's Olympic mount and Silver Medalist in the 1976 Olympic Games. Sam's father is the also famous Samber! Samber is the ONLY stallion of "colour" that the Dutch Warmblood Registry (KWPN) has allowed into their registry books. Link to info on Samber -> www.pintofields.co.uk/images/samber/notable.htm Since Samber's semen doesnt ship well, they only do live cover with him. This means that there are a lot fewer of his progeny out there. As Gina mentioned, this is Sam's 2nd foal. The first one was delivered early and found deceased in the stall the morning after delivery. So sad. This foal will be a Oldenburg / Friesian cross and will belong to Gina. We all can't wait to see his/her movement! Cherrie

Hi, Sam had a beautiful on April 6th at 8:20 pm. The filly is very heathy and so is mom. Her sire is my friesian stallion Bente D who is know for his very nice warmblood type movment. This filly should be a fantastic mover for dressage. Thank you everyone for watching. If I can figure out how to put a picture on here I will post one.
