Popcorn is reacting like someone could be there. I haven't seen anyone yet. I just checked on their chat site and it says the vet said tonight could be the night. So I doubt they are very far away.

Now
Edit* hmmm maybe not. It looked like she was pushing. Her legs were straight out and moving up and down, she has stopped now.

I want to thank you all for watching this mare. 2 vets examined her today and confered on her prognosis. She has many abcesses popping and she is trying to sluff her hoof wall. Not a good thing. She is ready to foal and she will foal about 10 days early according to dates.
We have myself watching her non stop and also her owners and Jorene Downs from Ceoates ranch watching her.
We believe after her pacing all day on that poor hoof that is causing her so much pain and now down that she is in stage 1 labor. She just needs to get that foal positioned properly. She is in a ton of pain from the hoof and vets did not want to give her pain meds. She is being soaked 3 times a day in a topical antibiotic, and epson salts along with a topical we are putting on her over the abcesses that have popped today.
This is the sweetest mare that I have ever been around and I have a soft spot for her in my heart, so keep good thoughts for her in your prayers.
Thank you all again for helping watch Popcorn.

Poor thing, she is in my prayers for a safe and healthy foaling and for her accesses to heal soon with no permenant damage. I hope she has the foal real soon so she can get some pain medication. Or would that go into her milk and hurt the baby?

God bless this sweet mare and prayers for safe delivery. I was watching her earlier when she looked like she was pushing and she did the exact same thing a couple of nights ago. She would lie flat out with her legs straight, then roll onto her belly and her tail would flag up and down as if pushing. I thought for sure she was in labor and then she calmed down just as she is now. Kind of a double edged sword. Foaling would decrease her weight, but then the foal would be early. I just pray for the best outcome possible for both.

I just talked to the people in Ceoates chat. They said that the nurse mare is coming from 400 miles away and will be there in the morning. Ater the foal is born, Moolah will be moved to the clinic. They will give her antibiotics and pain medicine there. The vet can't give her any medicine until after the baby comes. Sure hope that is soon! We all need to keep them in our prayers!

Praying hard and going to go light a candle for her
