This is Baby and her colt Socks at the hospital yesterday. Baby never left the colt's side and stood all day long with her head laid on the table looking at her foal. If this photo isn't priceless - I don't know what is. Just got off the phone with Angie - Socks is brighter, alert and will stand and nurse with assistance. Once he's up he's able to stand for awhile, but just needs help getting up. This is encouraging, but he's still critical. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

Oh my....a picture really says more than a thousand words. Baby is doing the same thing two-legged mom's do in emergency rooms everywhere....providing comfort, hope and strength to her little one in danger. This proves so well that the people who call animals "dumb" don't have any idea what they're talking about...
Sending reiki healing and strength to Socks and Baby !

Isn't that a heart wrenching photo? Wow and some people call them "dumb" animals that only respond through repetition. Baby knows something is wrong and she wants her foal so bad.

Oh my, what an unbelievably sad picture, but also beautiful. Poor Baby, she probably just doesn't understand what's going on here with Socks. Still saying many prayers for this little girl that she has a full recovery. This is an amazing picture, thank you for sharing it.

Socks was doing better yesterday. Here is a few pictures that I got of him nursing and standing yesterday. Afternoon Update:: Socks is not able to stand today he wants to get up but just does not have the strenght to stand, he is nursing from a bottle. When he is awake he is bright and alert and wants to get up. I am expecting a call around 9 tonight for a update. I will let you know what they say.. Keep the prayers coming for Baby and Socks.. I did not get to go visit today, I will be going tomorrow and I will be taking Baby her strawberry pop tarts, she loves them... Baby belongs to my daughter Ashley and is very spoiled, we had to go to McDonalds Thursday and buy Baby a Apple pie. The whole school came to watch and see if Baby would eat her apple pie, they could not get over her eating the pie, my daughter said she loves anything I give her. Baby will eat pickles, pop tarts, cheese just about anything Ashley offers her. Baby is very good mom and loves her foals dearly as you can see in the pictures. Keep the prayers coming please. I will update as soon as I hear something

Nightly Update::: Spoke with the vet at 10:30 p.m. and she said that Socks was a little better tonight, he was scooting around wanting to get up but still can't stand. He is nursing from the bottle very good and lets them know when he is ready for bottle.. She said he is still in a very guarded state but was showing improvment.. Please keep the prayers coming for Baby and Socks. I will be going for a visit tomorrow and will update then..

My prayers are with you. I have fell in love with that first picture. It just shows you how they really have compassion themselves like humans. I have been outside with a friend's gelding that has a high impaction and now they have finally took our advice and is taking it to the vet. Poor Kevin is upset because they wanted him to go with them and of course he did but he is so tired. Thinking about socks and Baby and it's owners as well.
