I found this post on Lil Beginnings this evening and felt it would be beneficial to post it here. This little filly is in trouble and needs many prayers. Considering all we've been through with Hope and Gabby, I knew that the power of prayer was needed and could help this little girl. I feel so blessed with all we've received, I pray that you will consider praying for this little one too.Ally foaled today, at 319 days, her foal was so big she couldn't get it out on her own. She delivered a chestnut filly and we nearly lost them both. Ally I think will be okay, but our little girl is in critical care tonight. Please send prayers, healing thoughts, and whatever else you think might help. She is a beauty and 32 lbs big.
Thanks everyone...here she is:[/b] Amy Lacy www.finchmeadowfarm.com/

This little girl seems to be another fighter, and sometimes a little assist from above is all they need. She has a very vigalant mother and the folks out at her home on her side, add all the love from the folks on the board and a stir it up with some prayers and she has all we can give her. Prayers are on the way. Hang tough out there Finch Meadow Farms, help is coming.

Gosh that was a big baby at 30+ pounds. Zowie ... considering most full-size horse foals are 60 - 80 pounds, that IS huge for a mini!!
Amazing they were able to get her out without doing major damage to mare and foal!
I surely hope the filly pulls through with no lasting effects.

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers, for the time being we are doing good. I am just uploading some new pics from this morning. Baby will get up and nurse, and thank God Ally has accepted her. Being a maiden mare and birthing under anesthesia, she didn't have a clue what this new little person was! She is just the best mare. I am too tired to write a new post, so here is what I wrote over on Lil Beginnings: I have named my filly Finch Meadow Luna De Plata, which in Spanish means Silver Moon. I don't know why that name Luna kept coming into my mind but it did, so that is that! She is holding her own this morning. She is low on White blood cells, so her immune system is pretty depressed. She is being infused with plasma, plus is getting supplemented for low blood sugar. She is also on very strong antibiotics. She is getting up and down, and is nursing. Ally has accepted her and is figuring out how to be a mom. I am so happy, I was terribly worried that she wouldn't figure out what to do with the little creature she woke up to. Ally is doing okay, she will need to be flushed today and some other supportive care. She loves her little baby. Here are some pics of the two of them from this morning. Please keep the prayers a comin', we are not out of the woods yet. Many prayers and good wishes to all who are going through this same scary experience.

Hi everyone. Haven't been back on, haven't been on the computer much. Within 10 hours of those last wonderful pix, Luna crashed. She started having grand mal seizures. They put her on Valium to control the seizures, and it didn't work. So they put her on phenabarbitol. We made it through the night without any more major seizure activity while she was in this drug-induced coma. They will be slowly drawing down on her meds today to see if she can come back up without the seizures. It will be rough today and tomorrow. Please keep praying hard and light those candles for little Luna. I am just frantic with worry. And if you know anyone who is looking for a gorgeous brand-new County Dressage saddle, well below market value, please pass on my contact info: amylacy@isp.com . I need to do something to help me pay for all of this.
Thanks!
