**This thread is for OWNER UPDATES ONLY* Chatter about Tulip is on the other Tulip thread. This is so it's easier to find updates on her. Thanks!  Okay I know what you are thinking [image] ?? We have a friend who has a HUGE sow that is ready to have piglets. Today they came over and borrowed my camera and she is going to try to get it online here by tomorrow. Might take us a few days to get it done though! The last time she had 11 piglets and two died, one died at birth the other was still born. She is heavily bagged in the back but not the front. Pigs are pregnant for 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days......I will let you know when it is online! We were there the last time with her and delivered all the piglets. Her name is Tulip and she is around 800lbs. I will try to see if I can find a picture of her somewhere to post! www.foalcam.com/chelsead/camIf you see her in labor and nobody is in there please call us. Remember Tulip is not at our house but we can get there in about 5 min. Best to call Chelsea but she has a young daughter so please don't call unless she is presenting and nobody is there. I see a lovely family--Is this the pic you mean't?  Anyway, I get a kick out of watching you PIG. Thanks for sharing. I hope I get to see her babies born. |

Hello all, I went and peaked in on her this morning and no leakage from her hind end, things are still about the same. I will be getting her out later today for a bath and putting in more bedding.

I gotta say that I am confused by all these Tulip Threads. There are three out there this morning - and I did hear other say they were going to start one in the Around the Stable boards ....... I don't quite understand all this. It is all the same amount of typing space whether it's spread among numerous threads or all on the same one. I don't understand what was wrong with the way it was.

People were having a hard time finding actual updates on Tulip among the pages and pages of chatter about her, so I made this thread for updates from the OWNER ONLY. The other thread is for talking about Tulip, and has been moved to this board from Talk Around The Stables so it's easier for people to check on the other mares and post. We did this in January with a very popular mare. The third Tulip thread is the original one, and is locked, so nobody can post to it. It's really not that confusing.

I just took Tulip out for her daily bath, and I noticed she has a nick on her right side, above her very back teat and it's leaking clear fluid. I cleaned her off and put vaseline down there for her, so she should be a little more comfy. Still no milk coming from any teats and her hind end is about the same.

Update: Went to check her this evening and her 4 back teats are giving out more clear fluid than before! So I'm hoping she is just a few days out! And her back teats are as hard as a rock! So anyone up late in the night or wee hours of the morning-please help me keep an eye on her!!! And call me if babies start coming! OMG! Her back 4 teats are so full they are about to blow!! Still no milk though and her hind end is about the same. HOPEFULLY the next few days...................

Well, took her out for her bath today, and that didn't take much coaxing. She is still the same, back 4 teats are about to burst, still getting clear fluid from them. No change in the hind end. My daughter knows the drill too! She was helping mama check for milk!!! I just about fell over laughing!  |
