Only way you can register the foal is if the owner of the stallion has filled out a breeders certificate AND reported the breeding to AQHA. If this wasn't done to register the foal will be nothing but a nightmare. I would contact either the previous owner or the stallion owner. I got a stellar bred arab mare a few years ago. She was a daughter of Kharben who was a grandson of Khemosabi (I believe, been awhile now). Well anyway she was older but the gal I bought her from said that all the paperwork was in order to get her registered as a purebred. With her bloodlines I was willing to pay the money to reg this mare. Well anyway both her parents were bloodtyped but when I contacted the arab association they told me I needed to get a breeders certificate. So I contacted the owner of the stallion (talk about a a$$) anyway he told me that stud fees were never paid in full and so my mare would never be able to be registered until all his stud fees were paid. I tried to explain to him that I just bougth the mare and I had no idea, pretty much told me too bad so sad. So I hope you have better luck!!!

I have called the owners of the stud, they wont return my calls. I have talked to the AQHA, and hopefully things will work out. But I'm not holding my breath!!

Udder is about the same as yesterday. She didn't want her usual butt rub from me this am. Also when I went to check her udder, she let me know right quick,DON'T TOUCH!! She is acting different, she will back up to me when cleaning her stall for the butt rub, but not this morning! So who knows, maybe we will have a foal by the weekend!! ONE CAN ONLY HOPE!!

Thanks Linda, I sure hope it's soon. I do have a barn cam, but didn't get the other things needed to have the live feed on the net. Maybe next year I'll have it taken care of BEFORE she foals! I can't seem to get any real good pictures of her. She's about 14.3 hands. Looks like the old foundation horses to me. This pic was earlier in the spring. I'll try to get some more pictures today.

all! This AM around 1:30 Pebbles was down, and stayed the same way until 3:30. Not like her at all. She doesn't lay down much at all. Her rear end was long and loose, and came out even with her buttocks. BUT....... needed here, QUESTION..... her udder is still huge but, I still get only clear fluid. When does it usually start changing??? I know that all mares are different, but as a norm, if there is such a thing, does it start to change from clear,to honey colored, to white! White is what I NEED!!!!!! Any ideas?? Thanks A Bunch!!! Kim

WAHOO congrates on the breeding papers!!!! Once they are there you will have NO trouble registering the foal!! Oh Kim that's great news. Papers for your little one. So happy for you. I think she looks really pretty in the last pic you posted. I bet she's a real sweetie. So, any more changes in her bag? JMO but I think when she foals the color will change real fast in the milk dept. When my first mare foaled last year, she had gotten some fescue from some boughten hay, and her bag was so hard we couldn't get anything out of her. The Vet had to give her a shot and it worked really fast. Just like everyone was telling me, dont worry, it'll all turn out just fine. Easy for them to say huh, lol I should have listened to em. The body seem's to know what to when the time is right. I know it's driving you crazy with worry. It did me too and all turned out prefect. Keep us posted on her.

Thanks for all the info!! (Linda) she is a super sweet mare. Just loves attention! She is coming right along, muscles are really getting more relaxed now, her udder is sooo big and tight, no wax yet. I did notice that last check she has some edema on her belly. Legs are not swelling, but just that on her belly. She is HUGE,bless her heart. So miserable. It's been hot and humid with no rain for sooo long. Forecast this week is cooler temps. with showers and Tstorms. Hope it rains a slow steady rain for a day or two. Will keep ya'll informed! Thanks, Kim

Haven't gotten any pics yet. She is still about the same. Small little changes is all. Udder is still huge, but no wax yet! Swelling BEHIND. And eating everything in site. If she don't foal soon, I think she will EXPLODE!!

Well, there's nothing new with Pebbles. Holding pattern I guess. She does need to do alot more softening in her rear. Udder still large, and it seems to be getting somewhat cloudy. I wont have her bred back this year,I feel it's getting to late.I would rather have my mares foaling in April or May. It's just getting to darn hot and muggy. Will keep ya posted on the Pebbles saga!! TTFN..... Kim
