Well what happened is that on Saturday afternoon my step-mom noticed my dog chasing something. when she went and looked to see what it was she saw that i was a baby bunny. She went looking in that area and found a nest. so she came and got me and i put the baby back in very carefully. i also layed sticks in a crisscross pattern on top of the nest to make sure the mom had come back (if they aren't messed up then she hasn't been there) we then left the nest alone till this morning. when i went out this morning the sticks hadn't been touched. so i took the babies out (i wore gloves so i wouldn't leave my scent on them) and called this wild animal refuge place thats near my house so that they could come pick them up. they told me to put the babies back in the nest with all the fur and stuff that had been it and do the criss cross pattern again. they said that if the mom isn't back by Monday morning to call them. well i checked on the nest before i went to work and it still hadn't been touched. when i came home about 5 hours later i went and checked on the nest. I then found out that my dog had gotten out and attacked the nest he unfortunately killed 5 of them and one was left alive (there had been 7 but we don't know what happened to the 7th one) so i brought the one that was left alive inside and brought the stuff that lines the nest in to i put that all in a box i then called my aunt who's a vet and asked her what to do she told me to feed the little bunny kitten formula every 4 hours she told me that if he makes it through the next 3 days he has a very good chance at living till adulthood So please wish me luck on keeping this little baby bunny alive Ive only had him a few hours and Ive already gotten attached to him From what my aunt told me over the phone after i described him to her she said he is probably about 2 weeks old any advice on how to keep him alive would be greatly appreciated I moved this out of the stable, and added more info to the heading in hopes that you will receive some more ideas

Samething happened to me about 10yrs ago although it was a guy I was dating's dog that got them and the dog killed the mother bunny and all the babies except one. However this baby I tried to raise was ALOT smaller with his eyes not even open. I did not have luck with him and he passed away. By what I have heard it is easier to raise them if they are a little older like the one you have rather then the age I had. Very much luck being sent your way!

Yep, he looks to be about 2 weeks old. Wild bunnies will leave the nest by the time they're 3 weeks old or so (so will tame ones, but they nurse their mothers for longer) He's old enough to start offering some fresh grass or plantain or clover (stuff they eat in the wild) If you are going to release him, you need to do so as soon as he's eating greens pretty good, even though he'll look awfully tiny to you. If you keep it until it's older and tamed, it won't stand a chance in the wild as it will have lost it's fear of humans and domestic animals. Good luck and let us know how he's doing! : )

I had to bottle feed three rabbits that my husband mowed up in the pasture and their eyes were not open yet. I got a very very small doll bottle and formular from the vet's office and feed them just about every 4 hours. They did fine. I held them in my hand on their back and pushed the bottle in their mouth so they would suck it. When they got alittle bigger I started feeding them the milk and I also shreaded carrotts and lettuce to see if they would eat it and eventually they began to eat the carrotts and lettuce. When they got to where they were eating shredded carrots and lettuce all the time I quit the milk. When they finally got so big they started biting me when I would pick them up to clean their box I knew they were ready to be set free. I took them to the country and set them free in a field of clover.

The little guy is doing GREAT. he has been nibbling at grass and has been very active. hes been so active that i had to get him a bigger box to live in. I had him out of the box today and he was jumping and running around like crazy. and even though ive had him for not even 24 hours hes already taken a liking to sleeping on my stomach when i am laying on the couch. He has also been named Sebastian by my little sister.

Sebastion (the baby bunny) is doing great. He is eating about 3-5 ml of formula 2-3 times a day. He has been nibbling at grass and clovers. He is very active and this morning when i let him play on my bed he was running around on it. Then he started to play by going under the covers and hiding. I dont know what i am going to do when its time to release him. I have gotten so attached to him. Ill put up some new pics of him later today

Sebastian is continuing to do great. He loves to run around so much that i had to give up on keeping him in a box and he is now in a big cage. He is still only nibbling at grass. He is way more intrested in his bottle. He has been drinking up to 10mls of formula at a time at 3 times a day. If he gets hungry he will cry continuasly until i feed him. He is just to cute. He has also really grown to love the towel that was in his box. Everymorning when i wake up and go to feed him he is cuddled up on the towel sleeping. New pics are below. He is getting bigger He loves his towel and he really Loves his bottle
