luvhorses, I couldn't agree with you more. It's better to be safe, than sorry later if others come down with this. Keep em at home till they get a total release from the Vet. JMO

Well, the barn owner said the vet said that the horses were not contagious anymore (after last tuesday) because the sickness had been treated. All the horse are back to normal, some are coughing if they work hard in a lesson but most are almost 100% back to normal. Chip is better, I rode him today and he didn't cough more than two times maybe. And we worked hard, we jumped and all.
Anyhoo, the barn owner says its okay for us to go to the show, and that it is no longer contagious for other horses. She had the vet's word on it and he/she said it should be okay to go the show. We are all signed up for it and our entries are in and all the horses are okay. Only one or two horses have a bit of discharge coming form their noses( one of them being the newest horse to the barn) and they are not coughing or anything, just some snot coming out.
Anyways, all this to say I think we are fine to go to the show now.
Thanks VERY much for all the advice luv!! ;D
Wish us luck!

Darn, last few days it has been raining real bad and it's gonna continue to tuesday so.. they canceled the show. We don't know when its going to be put to, but probably only next month. Well, no shows for our barn this month I guess, except one show that Dressage New-Brunswick is hosting at our barn. I'm not going though, cause it costs over like 100$.

100 dollars an entry! Yikes! At least your horse will get a little extra rest after being sick which can't hurt. He will be stronger with the extra rest. Cheer up; Summer is just around the corner now.... things will get better as after the season changes. So what classes do you usually enter? Summer... Wee! Can't wait lol... The show was put to June 3rd. I usually go in hunter jumper(x-rail, x-rail oxers and small verticals), Road Hack(pony class cause chip's a pony), Pleasure Pony, Pairs class if there is one(I like this one... its a real challenge.. ), for the western division in our shows I sometimes do barrel racing, but not on chip just yet cause i am not 100% used to him and he is fast), western pleasure and there are others in the western&english division I go in but I can't remember what the names are, I will check that out when I get home today(I am not at my place right now) Do you show Luv?

No. I don't show. Wish I had enough money burning a hole in my pocket to own and show a horse. But alas not. I grew up a horse crazy gal.... rode horses at a stable nearby. Never could afford a horse of my own but I still dream of having my own horse today as an adult.
I tried jumping; but I was not brave enough for it then. Jumping scared me. I rode mostly western and bareback; a little english.
I love mare stare as I get to live around horses vicariously as I stare at the mares foaling. With the price of gas driving the prices of everything up; it will be a long time before I can chase my dream to own a horse of my own. I don't have the land; I'd have to board a horse. Never take for granted being fortunate to have a horse to ride every day; a lot of horse crazy kids wish for that. I was one of them; now I am a horse crazy adult.
Good luck on that upcoming show. Hope you take home some nice prizes. You don't have too long before your next show... it'll be here before you even know it.

I was a horse crazy kid, even when really young but I only started riding at 9 and now I am 12(going on 13) and have been riding for almost four years. Now, finnaly I convinced my parents to atleast lease a horse for the summer, maybe someday, but I doubt it, I will own a horse. Oh well, atleast we all get to enjoy horses here on marestare, I don't know what i'd do without this place, since I only ride once a week and become horse-desperate during school days, and I now come home to marestare ;D
