They are taking Dancer back to Georgia. Vet was just here and told Heather to take her back as she needs to be in the hospital . She is not drinking like she should. Prayers are needed for Dancer Heather & Shannon Report from UGA is good. Dancer has passed 6 piles of manure on her own and seems to be improving. We're holding off on surgery (praise the Lord) and hoping to keep things moving. They did a scope on her and she was forming another stomach impaction (sigh ) so she got a Coke Float (coke lavage) again. I'm going to make Coca Cola a staple on my horse's diets - honestly.
We'll keep praying that her health continues to improve. I don't look for her to come home until the end of the week - at best. But that's okay!!!!! As long as she gets to come home. Updated by Heather[/i][/color]

Thanks guys. Dancer's x-rays show alot of gas and alot of food in her colon - again. They were going to scope her and see if it was in her stomach and if so, they were going to do another Coke Lavage (I think she's just addicted to Coca Cola). If her stomach was empty they were going to use Epsom salts to help get her colon moving. They're also pushing fluids.
We are steadily praying for her to start passing things on her own - NO SURGERY.
Everytime the colon is handled there's a chance that she'll have adhesions - in young animals the colon creates a kinda sticky substance (adhesion) as a protector for the colon anywhere it's been touched. If you get one on each side of the same part of the colon they can lock together and shut the colon off....obviously not good. So the more that her colon is handled, the less likely that the outcome will be good.
Please continue to pray that she'll start moving things on her own - no surgery!!!!
Thanks for all your support and prayers!

Adhesions don't occur in JUST young animals - they occur more commonly in young animals.
My brain was flying faster than my fingers.
