Please pray for my dog...

Well we had one of those freak accidents occur at the house today..... Baxter my silver miniature schnauzer loves to play ball with the kids. Well they were playing a game of baseball, and he ran in front of the boys while he was sliding into first base. Caught his leg and he screamed like i have never heard a dog scream for about 25 seconds it was awful. I thought for sure it was his spine. But, fortunately he has movement of all four legs. His right hind however didnt turn out so lucky. The vet was walking in right as it happened (we were having a little get together) and he looked at it. Right now without x rays he thinks its a really good sprain and some bone bruising, but he said could very well be fractured. He will not use the leg at all, and so we plan on taking him in to get some films on tuesday. The vet splinted the leg, and gave me some pain killers. But i just feel so bad for the little guy, he is one of those in your face MR. PERSONALITY types. I just hope there are no fractures!

Well he woke me up this morning about 6 30 with an upset tummy, everything and anything he had eaten in the past 24 hours came up poor guy. The Doc said it is most likely the pain meds, so we switched them. He has only thrown up two more times since then. He is still not using the leg to walk but will put it down when he stands which is encouraging. Hopefully the x-rays tomorrow will give us some more answers.

Thankfully he is still in high spirits and wants to play. That makes me feel better as at least i know he is comfortable. Sparkle (the little white dog in the picture) his wife, haha has been by his side since he got hurt giving him kisses. Its way too cute for words.

I appreciate all of your prayers more than you all know. And i will definately keep you updated! Thanks!

Im off to the vet with Baxter in about an hour! Please pray that there are no fractures!

Well the verdict is in

Multiple hairline fractures, soft tissue inflamation, and bone bruising.

He is on very high rest orders anti inflamatories and pain meds.

If he is not improving in a week, we will take him into the specialist
