I know what you all mean when it comes to hay. I haven't been paying too much for hay. $25.00 for a big round bale of bahia, delivered. But now we are in a drought and I can't buy any for this winter right now. Second cutting is slim. A lot of fields aren't growing and some are turning brown. Farmers are hanging onto it for their own livestock or already have it promised to someone else. A lot of farmers are selling some of their cattle for fear of not being able to feed them this winter. The feed store owner said feed prices are going to go up too. Looks like it's going to be hard for a lot of folks this winter.

This is our second year of drought. The roots for coastal are dying. Anyone know where I can get the cheapest shots? I need to at least start doing one of them once a month till I can get the three taken care of. Right now I'm looking at getting rid of at least one of the other horses. Breaks my heart but I have to get this cc payed off. What else can I do? Thanks for all the suggestions on hay. I've been all those routes. It still is as expensive or more for hay that way. Two years of paying triple the hay prices, grain prices increased and all the vets bills, not including the ones for Lukky, have really pulled us down. Ya'll donate to marestarecares. There are others and myself that need help. All the proceeds go to those in need. I'm personally donating a drawing or a painting to it. I was going to donate my saddle but I need to sell it to pay the bills.
