Oh Goodness, William, I just read on the other forum where you said the girls were positive for EEE. I am so sorry but it sounds like one of the girls has beaten it but that Appy is still in pretty serious condition. I thought for sure you would post here. I didn't answer the post on the other forum.. Were they vaccinated for EEE? Judy

I know William's horses had all their shots, he always keeps up on that. Have another friend near here that horse was diagonsed with West Nile last week.(She alo keeps up on her shots) We have had a lot of warm weather here and a reasonable amount of rain, so maybe that is why this is so early this year. Seems to be a lot of things going around not just down here but all over.

Yes,
Both Dee Dee and Appy are positive For EEE, Dee Dee is also Positive for WEE if the results are correct... The tests were performed by the University of Georgia, We are going to send some blood down to University of Florida to confirm the results.... I guess this goes to show the Vaccinations do help lower the risk of infection, but they can still get the virus... The vet thinks the Vaccination did help keep the virus at a minimum if you can call it that, EEE does have a very high mortality rate and so far, Both are still sticking with us, We are still keeping a close eye on both on both of them...

I'm glad recovery seems to be on the horizon, but I bet you are very concerned about getting a final diagnosis as to what this was!
