I really don't know if Annie is pregnant, as my vet wouldn't ultrasound her. If she's pregnant, she's at 170 days. She looks fat, but then she was always the fattest of my minis, as she's had three foals before and never got her figure back.
I just talked to my vet and he said I can bring her in on Monday, and they'll take a blood test to send out to the lab to see if she's pregnant. Does anyone know if these tests are accurate? My vet said that there very often can be false positives.
"IF" Annie is pregnant, she and Breeze are due within one week of each other. And I just calculated their due dates to be June 10 and June 17. That was the 320 day mark.
So, can we have a contest for the first foal born mid-June, instead of July? *snork*

Your vet is right....blood tests aren't always accurate. In fact, all of the ones I've ever had done (by a vet)...ended up being wrong! The only "blood" tests I've had good results with are the Pregnamare tests that you do yourself. (have had 100% accuracy!) But those must be done between day 40 & day 120...which won't help you now that she is farther along than that.
She's far enough along you should be able to start feeling movement tho. Have you tried doing that? Also, now that we are coming into February, you could just wait to see if she starts cycling.

If your vet can't palpate or ultrasound, I'd probably forego spending the money on a test that might be wrong. I'd do as Dona says and check for foal movement as well as checking to see if she comes in heat. She's either pregnant or not and she'll either foal or come in heat! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

As luck would have it, I had to call early this morning and cancel the vet visit, as I needed another root canal and the dentist called with an opening.
And of course you're both right... I suppose it really doesn't matter right now. She'll either come into heat or she won't.
The only reason I'd like to be 100% certain that she was pregnant is because I have Rambo out with her and the other horses (except Mama and Lucy), and if Annie is open I don't want to take the chance of her being bred without me catching it, as I don't want any foals born until at least May. It's just too darn cold up her until then.
