EXCITING but worried

We got asked yesterday, by Thomas and Sandy,if they could borrow two horses to be in their wedding. WHOO HOO! They will be carring the bride and groom to the alter and thru the ceremony and ride off over the hill after their married. WOW What a dream wedding for a cowboy and a Cowgirl?

Well she has been on a horse twice and he is a cowboy or at least that what we call him. lol She is leaving the ideas and plans for preparing the horses for the big day, up to me.

Its a good thing, I think she likes me, but anyway, planning on flowers in the bridles and manes. Even decorating the blanket that is going over the brides horses butt. Thats so if he "goes" her dress will not turn green. She wants lily of the valley flowers everywhere. Since I also have an embroidery machine I can design and sew/stitch the horses saddle pads and blankets with that flower. I just hope Buddy and Jose like it. lol

By the way I am even going to decorate the bucket and fork that follows the horses, maybe somehow having real lily of the valley plants in it... So many plans and ideas... So little time.

I'm sure when I tell her my ideas she will look at me and say "I never thought of that". lol

Going to have to practicethis a couple times so they get used to the area where they are getting married. Hate to see the bride run over the hill without the groom....lol

There are so many things that could go wrong.... I just hate to think of it. Might have to get something to calm down Jose. He is not one who can stand still for very long. With her being a beginner rider.... She has been out to ride Buddy. So at least she knows him. But then they are both 4/5 year old horses..... So I am a little worried about it. I did tell them we would stand next to the horses at least Buddy. Thomas broke/trained Jose so we know that will be ok. We will still have someone on the ground holding them.

I just have to keep saying to myself everything will be ok. and start thinking of more fun stuff to make their day the best day of their lives.

Oh how romantic! Make sure to post some pics. Might want to try some calming herbs for Jose. Talk to Heather about them. Remember that lily of the valley are poisonous. Keep the horses away from them.

Yes any info on calming Jose down.... hate to give him a tranquilizer. Don't want the a gelding to "relax" to much.... Sandys mother would KILL me if the talk of the wedding was how relaxed he was, remember they are non horsey people.

I just hope they don't go to the bathroom when they ask each other .... do you take .... and hear a stream of water or a plop!

Yes there will be many pictures, we are having 3-4 people on each horse to get them ready that day.

maybe try Quietex?? the only thing with that is you have to administer it an hour or 2 before it actually kicks in and only lasts for an hour or so. it does work and may be just long enough for what you're looking for??

Yes they are TC along with most other lilies. Ferns are also poisonous. You might want to consider using silk flowers on the bridles or anywhere on the horses. They are easier to wire or tie on and they will withstand any head shaking etc. And you don't have to worry about them being poisonous. I know that our Walmart has silk lily of the valley flowers that look real. You can combine the lily of the valley with some colored baby's breath or a few miniature roses for contrast. Daisys also are nice wedding flowers and can be found in many colors and sizes in the silk variety.

If you use some kind of calming agent on Jose try it out a few days before the wedding to see how it affects him and how long it lasts. Don't worry about them going potty. It'll just be something to laugh about then and later on. Even the non - horsey people will get a laugh. Thomas and Sandy can even warn their guests ahead of time that this could happen. Tell them to expect the unexpected. LOL. Good luck. Everything will be fine.

I think the silk flowers are a must...I think I'll go to walmart today, Just to see. I like the idea of baby breath in them also. I am still looking for a silky inexpensive horse blanket that I can attach to the saddle and drape over Buddys back end. I would love to embroider Lily of the Valley along the bottom of it.

I am hoping Sandy is going to have the guys wearing long tails on the tuxes. I could put a blanket on Jose and split it so he had tails also....lol
