Very hard to say this but on Sunday Riffy,a little pony at our stables ended up collapsing on the showground.As soon as he had the oxygen mask on he jumped up because he didnt like it so he was taken back to the yard and the vet"lizzie" was called out.The vet asked jane and sarah the owners if they had any bran but they didnt.so the day went on,riffy was up and down,rolling around thats when jane rung us and asked if we had any.we said no but we knew who might have some!
just down the road from the stud from the yard was janice and larapinta stud.mum rang her as to say are you at the stud and have you any bran.yes she had bran but she stopped doing it.as three of her horses started colicking becuase they didnt have it so she started doing it again.we got given a bag of bran and as always,janice came into the road to say when its clear and then we drove back down to the yard.when we got there,jane was thrilled.he ate a lovely hot bran mix and was left for the night.
next morning lizzie was rung again and this time she found a huge mass in his spine.he was lying when he was put down.
