I'm miserable, too, Regret. And I thought of you right away when I heard the news. Thanks for giving me a chance to express my adoration of the Fog and sympathize with his connections. The vicissitudes are so hard. I had begun to hope for a crop or two of foals, at least. But he will light up our memories.
According to their Web site, Golden Gate Fields is planning to honor him on 30 September.

I'm going to the honoring. I will find a way to do it. I will take the day off of work and go. Thank you for pointing that out to me-- I wasn't aware of it.
I've been crying for days. What a gallant warrior he was. What an amazing creature. I swear, these animals touch us so much, even in their deaths, and teach us how to become better people.

I definately will. Apparently GGF is giving away a DVD of all his wins.. what a wonderful tribute.
The Aristides was his greatest race.. I want to watch that one again.

I am pining for that DVD! If they provide any information about how to order a copy, would you let me know? If I had any way to do it, I'd fly out there for this tribute. His races made me weep with sheer joy, and I haven't seen the Aristides. What a moving event this will be, Regret. I wish I could be standing next to you, feeling his presence and absence.

Devotee-- sign up for a website called calracing.com. Go to race replays and search for Lost in the Fog- you can watch all his races there, including the Aristides. Great news, too-- his ashes will be buried at Golden Gate Fields, just like I'd hoped.

If any of you never got the chance to watch Lost in the Fog race, click the link in my post just above this one. You'll never forget him. Also, there is a beautiful editorial about him in Bloodhorse.com. It not only eulogizes his brilliance, but also attests to the marvel of TBs. Here's the link to the editorial: opinions.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=35485 . (Check it out, Regret. And I'll be thinking of you on Saturday.)

Saturday was definitely hard. I did get to meet Mr. Gilchrist & Mr. Aleo.. both incredibly nice men. I gave the scrapbook to Gilchrist and he was so happy.. I swear I almost couldn't do it because my hands were shaking so bad.

Thanks so much for delivering the scrapbook to them, Regret. We would have made a seismic pair, had I been there, too. I can't tell you how many times I have wept and thrilled over the video. The heartbreaker for me is his race against Egg Head, who was also euthanized earlier this year. If you haven't seen the eulogy in Bloodhorse, you should check it out. It's beautiful. I put the link in a post, above. It's been a rough year.
