anyone consider the teeth as a problem (may need floating), besides the inexperience of the rider?
Had that vet out yet JJ for a good thorough exam?

Your horse is going to need some retraining from scratch. After being abused with the bit (not intentionally) she will have to learn that you aren't going to hurt her anymore. A lot of times it takes a while to earn their trust again. While waiting you can start by petting her head and scratching her chin and under her jaw. Handle her mouth and nose gently. Talk softly and immediately reward her when she allows you to touch her without throwing her head, even if it's only a second. This will take time so don't get impatient and force her. You will get nowhere with force. She'll start to realize that you don't mean her any harm but only with patience and understanding. Have your trainer check the size and fit of your bit. It may not fit properly and is causing her discomfort. Good luck.
