HUN, CALM DOWN. There is no way someone could say you of all people are abusive to or mistreat your animals in any way shape fashion or form. She needs to get a clue and buy a vowel if she felt it was better for them to just run free rather than being in a stall for a period of time. It is not like they are in there 24/7 anyways. Please contact evryone you can in your area to find out who she is, in the event something does happen later down the road. You might also want to keep an extra close eye out for things to happen later. Have you considered a web cam. And please watch that mamma, we will all be praying extra hard she and foal are ok.

That is so sad, Maple! How could someone do that? Like umm.. hello? can't you see there is no fence to stop them from getting onto the road ? They could have gotten injured badly if they had wandered off. What a mindless person. I would have been pretty near as mad as you we're. If anyone ever said to me I was misstreating a horse by keeping them in pastures and stalling them for periods of time, etc.. I would have blown a fuse.
Well, atleast you're horses are ok,hoping the prego mare is ok too!

Maple hon, call the sheriff, and file a report. It would be in your best interest, that way you are protected. There are so many liab8ility laws, its scarey and if the stupid lil wench gets hurt you could end up liable. So my advice to you is call the sheriff. One good talking to and you would be amazes how that kind of crap stops!

Maple, my goodness! I am upset with you! If someone ever did that with my horses, I believe someone would be in trouble, in the nicest words that I can possibly put it. Definitely call the law, sounds like she was definitely trespassing... and sounds like her parents need to be notified. Besides it's none of her business what goes on at your house, and as long as your horses are in good shape, she has no right to make any decisions about your horses! I agree with lovelyepona... file a report, that way she isn't allowed to come on your property or if she does you can take legal action...
Be thankful that none of the horses were seriously injured... that is the most important thing... and getting a cam would be a great idea, that way you could be notified by a marestarer if that brat child ever tries to do that again!

What on earth is wrong with people like that! That girl's parents need a talking too and so does she! The Sheriff or the police for your area should definately be called. I know you keep your animals well fed and cared for. The pictures show that plainly. There is nothing wrong with round pen pastures and stalling in rotations. That child is out of her mind, if she got hurt she's be crying lawsuit. You've got a good chance of having peace restored by calling the authorities, she was way out of line. You were not too harsh, she thinks the humane society will do something when your obviously putting up a new fence and using the round pens as temperary turnout. Call the police and file a report and have the incident report in case the humane does show up so that they know who is responsible for Dream's injuries.

Maple, what a shocking thing to have happen. Get yourself some chain and padlocks and put one on each of the gates of your pens then the little fool wont be able to get them open. Do you have a stable. if so put you preggie mare in there and do the same. Lock it. Also do what lovelyepona said and call your local sherrifs office and explain what happened and ask that it be kept on record just in case she tries it again and someone gets hurt.
PRAYERS for you all,
maybe get Dream a checkup by the vet just to make sure all is ok with her and bub. (((HUGS)))

*hugs* Cold hose her leg, and keep her stalled. Give her lots of hugs and pets. This usually works with some carrots and sweet feed.

Maple I do not post to much, I feel like I am sticking my nose where it don't belong. But I wish you the best of luck for you and your preggo mare. You handled that alot calmer than i would have.....LOL Me and the police would have been dragging her but home! But then again maybe her parents were not home, I don't know. You can mess with me but when it comes to my daughter and my animals, look out! I can become a witch!

Maple, I believe also, you handled this more calmly than I would have. I would have called the sheriff on the spot. It sounds like this young lady needs a lesson in humility (some humble pie). I definitley would not have put up with that at all. If she knew anything of horse care what so ever, she would have known those horses were being well cared for. And, in a situation that you are in, round penning, being a temporary thing, there was ABSOLUTELY NO excuse for what she did. Prayers all ends well and that Dream is ok. Good Luck!

I hope you do talk to the sheriff, for your protection in case it happens again. You handled it way better and calmer than I would have. Cold water on the leg may help with the swelling. Fingers crossed for no more excitement at your place. Big Hugs going out to you.
