I haven't dissapeared, promise, I have gotten on to read occasionally, but just haven't had time to post. I moved to school (Arkansas State University) and have been working with casper, three show heifers (for ASU), and for Circuit City, along with Classes. I am so excited about next foaling season.
Alright about my baby. There is NOOOO scarring from his accident this summer.
ANNND....I started riding him myself (no trainer involvement ever) on Sept. 18!! He and I have forged a friendship like nothing else i have ever experienced!!
He is truly a pampered show horse now!! LOL, he lives under a lamp for at least 16 hours of daylight even when he can't be turned out (its the rainy season here, lots of arena turnout though) and has an EXTENSIVE purple blanket collection that he looks forward too as he has a summer slick coat and the weather flucuates daily.
We get to ride alot. I took him outside for the first time the other day. He did GREAT!! Also, his pacing has become alot less frequent as he builds his muscle tone back. He NEVER trots any more and 9 times out of 10 he gaits (foxtrot or running walk) at liberty. He is more of a big dog then a horse now!! As soon as I can, i'll try to post some pics of us. You will be amazed at how much he has changed!!
You girls (and zoo) have no idea how much your encouragment has ment to me, ALL of you were there for me and helped me get through so much with my boy!! I am so glad that I went the DIY route, it is so rewarding to try new things with him and succeed. He is incredibly sure footed, willing to try anything if I am in the saddle or at the end of the lead rope, not so good with other riders, looses his confidence sometimes when he can't see/feel me!! It's good and bad at the same time. We're working on it.
I have missed talking to you all and can't seem to catch you in the chat room. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you all. And I can't wait until the chat room is full of poeple again.
