I need to get this little guy back to Austin! Me, Chato, and Leslie talked a biton how to get him back here (its a 3 and half hour drive) Just wondering if anyone else has hauled minis inside their car, and how they do with that? Looked into X-Large Dog Crates as well... Any suggestions on how to make it as stress free as possible for my little man?

First off Skye...congrats on your little guy!! He's adorable and I'm sure the residents of the nursing homes will get much joy out of him!! I never hauled a mini in a car, but I have known of others to do it. Could you borrow a "mini"van (pun intended) for the day? A mini could easily fit with the seats taken out or folded down. (be sure to cover the carpeting...lol)

Skye, I do not know what kind of car you have , but we have a Grand marqui(or how ever you spell it) and we take the back seat out, built a platform out of one sheet of chip board, (that real cheap stuff that only cost like six bucks)to fit, put some cheap carpet on it, and made a ramp out of the extra wood from the chip board. My mini walks right in, and loves the ride. And then we got a doggie pooper scooper, and some little bags for the car. Works out awsome. Don't know if this helps or not, but it was something cheap and works great! Good luck, and oh you'r mini is the cutest!

I think he'd do fine in the car, though I've never hauled minis beofre. It would probably be good to get him used to the car anyway, since he'll be doing some traveling to the nursing homes;) He's adoreable!

we have a miniature donkey and miniature pony at our barn and they came together. to deliver them, their previous owner put down a tarp with shavings on it in the back of his suburban and was able to lift them right in. not sure how that would work in your case but they were fine!!

i'd put him in a trailer, leave him hay and shavings/straw down and take the partition out to let him loose. have a breast bar low down so you dont have to let them escape through the jockey door. ;D

We transported Prince from Mulligans Run for 3 hours in the back of a Ford Escape. He was a champ and seemed to enjoy looking out the windows. He was also a Gentelman and waited to relieve himself only when he was unloaded from the car.
