Not So Good News...

Well I have been battling some back pain since monday. It showed up out of the blue in practice and by wednesday it was almost unbearable. Thursday morning i swam and tried to get the pain over with, and by Thursday night my left arm had gone completely numb.

I could not swim today, and I had to go to the doctor. One look at my back and he was amazed that I was not in tears, you can see the spasming going on all along my spine on the left side from my neck all the way down to a little bit below the middle of my back. He took x rays and turns out that i have a 1 cm gap in two of my rib heads where they meet the spinal cord which is absolutely abnormal.

I will be going for a detailed MRI on monday to look at things deeper. I just hope this does not keep me out of the water for too much time.

that stinks!!!! i can relate to back pain...... my hips are actually uneven so when i ride a horse i tend to sit way to the left (that hip is lower). therefore when i got bounced around (ahem ahem miss mollie that bucking has to go) my back HURTS!!!!!! all i can say is i LOVE icy hot patches lol

So very sorry to hear about your back Skye. I've had to live with pain for years, nothing they can do about it. My son has a tear in one of his disks now and lives on pain pills, debating if he wants surgery or not. I think when we were younger we didn't realize that everything we did would come back to haunt us as we got older, that was my case anyway. I'll add you to my prayers for a fast recovery in whatever they decide to do for you. Take care and God Bless.
