I have an 8 month old miniature little boy, who for some reason now feels the need to show me he does not need all 4 legs. He has started to rise up on his hind legs at me. I was thinking this was just a play thing, because it would only happen when he was playing with his ball. but is now starting to happen more often. How can I stop him from doing this? He gets lots of attention, time in the yard, and I take him for walks around my neighborhood. (cracks people up to see me walking him like a dog) any ways I love him to death, he is my boy, but I can not have him doing this. I hope someone can help!

This definately needs to be stopped. One way to do this is to have him on a lead and when he rears tell him no firmly and pull him off balance. Give a quick hard pull while turning away from him. You can also push him off balance by suddenly turning into him and bumping him with your body. Another way I have seen is to give him a quick slap along his lower side or belly while telling him no. The whole idea, no matter what you do, is to make rearing unpleasant. Be sure to reward him when he does good.

A good way is to rap the rope around his mouth and is he continues, keep doing it until he learns
