well everyone in order to tell you about mollie's latest little problem i should probably explain what has been going on with her. as some of you know, i've been taking lessons with Holly Mason and they've been going extremely well. part of the success has been that mollie is finally using her body correctly, especially her back muscles. they're really engaged 80% of the time and i can actually FEEL her back underneath me now which is a BIG deal. recently, something has been "funny" about her back and at this point i'm pretty sure it has something to do with her hips.
the thing is, i can't explain it. i just get one of those funny little feelings that sometimes i only get because after almost 5 years together, mollie and i feel the SLIGHTEST changes in each other. it seems like every once in a while when i'm doing lateral work and now i feel it even more during canter transitions she just makes a funny move. almost like her hips are clicking in an odd way. but here's my problem -- since i've gotten so used to mollie moving one way and now we're changing everything, maybe she's actually correct but because it feels foreign to me i think something is wrong? i just don't know if i'm being paranoid or not...... either way there's a woman who massages many horses at the barn i ride at and she has worked on mollie several times. she's coming up tomorrow to work on a couple horses so hopefully she has time to take a look at mollie. i think it's more of a skeletal thing so i'm hoping to get the chirporacter up if the problem continues........ i just don't want it to turn into something big if i can help it. i'll keep you updated - you've always been super supportive before
