There is a company that makes aluminum splints for horses. I know they make them on special requests to. Let me find their website and I will post it. We used their splints for a foal that was born with contracted tendons.

Thanks, that would be great. I would love it if I could find something to fix their leg issues. They are slowly getting better with the corrective trimming but I worry that we'll not get it totally corrected before they quit growing and then we'll be stuck.

Oh man, it's raining here like crazy and supposed to keep it up for a couple of days I think. I have water coming up under one of my barns. Right now it's in the aisle in front of Dancer's stall but if this keeps up I'm going to have a bunch of flooded stalls. So please. prayers would be appreciated.
Thankfully the stall the twins are in is dry but the stall that Vee is now occupying is one of the threatened ones.

Sorry to hear your getting more rain. You might have to get some sand bags to try and stop the water from coming in at your low spots. Good luck and prayers that it doesn't do any more damage...Gotta keep those baby's dry..smile

The rain had backed off some for about 24 hours but now a huge storm has blown in and it's raining sideways. Sometime tonight, it's supposed to change to snow with the temperatures dropping into the teens. Our power was out for a little bit and I haven't been able to get the twins' cam up since the connection was dropped with the power outage. Will have to contact Heather or Jimbo to see if they can help me figure it out. In the meantime, the twins are fine. They like to hang their little faces out in the wind so they should be liking this darn storm. Also, I started a blog risingrainbow.blogspot.com/ I haven't posted about the twins yet but plan to put the detailed story of their birth up in the near future. (I hope, if life co-operates. )

The storm is finally over and we're blanketed in snow. Trouble and Surprise are sick of being kept inside and try to sneak past Lindsay to escape when she cleans their stall. But it is so icey here that it just isn't safe for them to go out. Poor Lindsay is getting the brunt of their frustrations. Today, Trouble tried to bite her while Surprise charged the door. She's a good kid and handles it all pretty well.
The temperatures here are in the teens with wind chill they're even lower. Wierd weather for us. We'll be starting to haul warm water out to the horses tomorrow. The last think I need is someone to colic because they're not drinking.
Since I can't work horses, I've been working on posting on the blog, adding a new post daily. Hopefully I'll start getting some traffic built up to get me higher ranking in the search engines.

Great blog, MiKael! Really informative and personable accounts of working with horses. And great pics, too! Everybody should look at it and enjoy your engaging tales. I sure did. I always do.
