Barbaro was one in a million and has touched the lives of all who knew of him. He was a symbol of hope and determination in the face of adversity. His life touched us all and he will be an inspiration to the world for a long time to come. He was a hero, and because of his short life, many positive changes for horses will occur. His plight focused attention on the problems that have gone on for years in race horsing and the lives of regular horses. It caused a lot of people to recognize many things that had been ignored in the past, because people didn't want to see them. The issues of horse slaughter, the track surfaces, better medical care for horses, over breeding and the mistreatment of horses will all be brought into clearer focus, because of the love and admiration for Barbaro. He faced his many challenges with courage and determination. His work here was done. It is his time to rest in green pastures. Barbaro, rest in peace, your trials are over. Your work here is done. It is now up to all of us now, to keep the flame burning brightly and to finish the work that you started. Rest well, sweet boy. You earned a place both in history and the future. We thank you.
