Well, despite us having a rough start to the week (we had a HORRIBLE lesson in 45mph wind on monday) my trainer convinced me to start putting my horse outside more. Since the weather has been PERFECT he stayed out yesterday and last nite with no blanket. Much to his happiness. So today I got him up and decided to put him in the English saddle for the first time, and if he was ok we would lunge. His trot was PERFECT. He was relaxed. NO running off or over me!! HOORAY!! And it is a black saddle, we are also borrowing a black bridle, and he had on black polos and a black pad, so he looked STUNNING!! I took pics on my phone I'm gonna try to get them on here, but we'll see. HOORAY!! God is so awesome. Even if we don't want to let Him have control, cause it doesn't make sense to us, His ways always work out. alright, here is a link to a pic of him in his english stuff: i76.photobucket.com/albums/j23/Amby06/casperenglishsaddle1.jpg

He looks great Amby. I'm sure his outside time is doing wonders for him. The english saddle may be more comfortable for him and this is why he's doing so well with it.
Amby, I'd like to offer you a little safety advice. You shouldn't tie Casper using his bridle/bit. This can be very dangerous if he should spook. It's best to put a halter over his bridle and tie to it. I know you did this for the pic. But anytime you have to leave him, even for a few seconds, be safe and use his halter sweetie.
I am so glad you are now getting somewhere with him and are learning to have fun. Hugs.

YAY, now even I can ride an English saddle. We hope to come together on Monday, so who knows. Also, though the contrast is pretty, trying to get the white hair off of the polo wraps has proven to be HARD!! Any ideas?

for getting the white hairs off take a stiff or hard bristle brush to it - i have a brush that don't use on mollie - just for getting the hair off my black jacket at shows!!!
