My husband and I are in the process of building a barn for ourselves and are going to get ourselves a draft horse. We are also looking for a Norwegian Fjord for our girls to ride/drive. Our real problem is that we can't find any withing driving distance of our homr in Florida. I have seen several nice ones up in New England & the Mid Atlantic states, but I have never shipped a horse long distance. All of my horses up to this point were purchased locally.
So, here are our questions for all of you that have done this before:
Who are some reputable companies that do this? (And, of course, we must have a company that has an outstanding record of taking good care of the horses in their care).
Does anyone have an idea of the cost of having a horse shipped from up north to down south?
I appreciate everyones input!!!

EQUINE EXPRESS HAS HANDLED ALL OF MY SHIPPING NEEDS...THEY CALL YOU EVERY 4 HOURS FROM THE ROAD THEY HAVE TRAILER CAMS AND DURING THE WHOLE TRIP YOU HAVE THE NUMBER TO TALK TO THE DRIVER AND SEE HOW THE HORSES ARE DOING THEY ARE THE BEST REALLY IN IT FOR THE HORSES SAFETY AND HAPPINESS..THEY TRANSPORTED bELLE AND HER LITTLE BABY I GOT BOXED STALLS AT A GREAT RATE.. ASK FOR WESS

THEY DO HAVE A WEBSITE AND WILL GIVE YOU A QUOTE ONLINE..HOPE THIS HELPS JUST TYPE IN EQUINE EXPRESS...

I've met the people that Heather uses and was VERY impressed with them! I've used All-State Equine Express and was "ok" with them. I've used Nationwide Horse Transportation a bunch and have been THRILLED 99% of the time. LOL The other 1% was because some young guy that was driving with the old pro hauling a 2 yr old stallion here made a "less than nice" comment about the horse...  |

Thanks! I have added Nationwide to my list - and I appreciate your information SO much!!! You are a gem here at marestare - I'll be watching for Sailor at the Nationals in a coupl of years!

I couldn't find them in any of the Marestare links! Help! And also, a big thank you for all you have done with MareStare! What a wonderful resource & great "fix" for those of us currently horse-less!
