How rare they are speaks not only to them being born but to the survival rate as well. I was contacted by a number of mare owners last year that had given birth to twins, only a couple of sets survived with mom and both twins alive.

I was reading the thread on these twins. Someone was comparing my twins to these and didn't have their facts straight. For me, it stresses the importance of really knowing what you're talking about before you go giving advice or input to other people that you're providing so they can make informed decisions.
My twins were full term, weighed about the same as these twins. Mine looked deformed in the head and their legs were more windswept probably because the mare was a maiden and they were so cramped. Maiden mares trypically have smaller foals. The combined weight of my twins was that of a large foal. The problems my twins faced was due to dystocia. Mine didn't have problems being down on their fetlocks like these twins and their IgG scores where absolutely through the roof, just like the colt born this year.
I wish these twins health and prosperity. It looks like they are in good hands.

I just wanted to add here I think it's important that people keep their facts straight when they repeat information. It everyone had kept their facts straight about Sassy, that whole nightmare on the boards would never have happened. The negative posts were made based on misinformation. Each of us has a responsibility to keep the facts straight. If all of us would be more careful with that responsibility, a lot of heartache would be avoided.
