I was wondering if any cam owners/ users have thought about giving hand signals to notify all us marestares the gender of their newborn? say, for example, a fist meant a , and 3 fingers pointed down meant a . It would save them from having to post as to the gender... or is there another system similar to this already in practice I am new to marestaring and still learning all the time... If someone could let me know? ta

I have seen some mare owners that notify the 'starers' of hand signals ahead of time, so we know what to watch for, i.e. one hand up for a colt or two for a filly. Some owners have made signs to put in the stall as well. There isn't really one set of signals that everyone uses, and not everyone does it, which is understandable considering everything else they have to worry about at the moment .

I have a sign.. colt or filly... used that colt sign a lot..lol.
I think some farms the thumbs up is a filly, thumbs down is a colt..... not sure. I guess if we post what we are going to be using prior to the birth then just follow the thread.
Thanks for reminding me to print a new sign.. last one got a bit mucky.lol

I posted prior to Pea foaling what it would be. Mine was two arms up for a colt and one arm up for a filly. Some barns have signs others do the hand signals. Just depends.
