I am not at all happy with my barn cam. Its supposed to be color and work when its dark in the barn. WELL IT ISN"T AND IT DOESN"T!!!! My question to EVERYONE is What kind of barn cam do you have and what kind of lighting do you have? I want it to be crystal clear and color. Also I don't want to have 15 lights on 24 hours a day. When the mares are inside. Tc

The barn cam I have is from Riverwind supply it is the colored wired cam , it has infared for night vision it does switch to black and white at night it works good at night as long as your stalls are not bigger than the infared lights rnage can work. I have found that 1 flourecent 60 watt bulb over my stall at night works great for clear view of mare. the flourecent works better than a standard light bulb I also tried the yellow bug light bulb and it seemed to work good for night viewing better than a regular standard light bulb also. You can go to my cam and see what it looks like at night www.marestare.com/morability.htm I am happy with my cam and would recommend highly Riverwind cams, the also have a good customer service. I was having major issues with cam having static and rolling and they worked with me as I was trying to find the problem and after a few days I found the problem and it was not the camera, some of my coax cable was to close to electric fence and causing a big problem I moved coax further away and I have had no more problems at all.

Wow! I really like yours.... nice and clear and COLOR!!!!! I'm going to look for one now. Oh, do you have a metal barn or wood barn. I have found that with the metal barns they don't work as well.

My barn is all metal except for the stall fronts and 2 X 12 stall dividers. If you go with a wired cam it really makes no difference the only thing I think that messes up a wired cam is running the coax along or to close to extension cords , electric fences or chargers and they said running coax over flourecent lighting will cause the interference I was having. I had tried a wireless cam the first go around and it just did not work for me due to barn being metal and I live 1 mile from airport ,I was kinda discouraged I might not be able to have a clear cam so thats when I found Mare Stare and found Riverwind and decided to give a wired cam a try and between Heather and Riverwind I could not be happier with everything and can watch my barn from work now ;D
