My worst nightmare happened today. My mare decided to foal outside in the sand this afternoon. The foal was hot and dehydrated and not nursing. I found them when I got home from work at 4pm. The vet came and tubed him with colostrum and he is finally nursing on his own. A little scary and not out of the woods yet, but doing good. A beautiful bay and white tobi colt. phewww

Wow, that is a nightmare but hopefully not your worst. Since you found him and were able to treat him hopefully this will have a good outcome. Prayers for you new little fellow.  |

Thanks for all the well wishes. Hes doing good. His IGG level and white blood count are borderline so he needs a plasma transfusion to be safe. I will keep you informed. Hes such a sweet friendly guy!
