The blood test for my lou cam back negative. However another vet told me the blood test is not a 100%. Please is there anyone who has any info on how dependable these test are. She looks preggers to me, and I need to know if I should have her Ultrasounded to be sure, or if the blood test is good enugh to say ok she is not and leave it at that.

My trainer swears that the blood test is NOT accurate on minis. I have always had it come out right on my mares....but I think alot depends on when the test is done.

Try the LSU edu site on equine pregnancy. Looks interesting. Just search pregnancy testing in mares,it should be the fourth one listed. Hope that helps!

If you are still not sure I would have her ultra-sounded just to be on the safe side!!! Good luck, Brittany

www.foalproof.ca/canada.htmI used this test this yr & it helped me out with two mares I was questioning in Jan. The test I did on each mare was right. I will always use this test when I am questioning if a mare is still in foal. I used Urine test not the blood. Found easyer to do. You can get it in Canada or U.S.
