I just recieved this in an email from the Michigan Horse Council: I wanted to let my horse friends know about a tragedy that happened to one of my neighbors this morning in North Howell. Some sick individual(s) had maliciously slaughtered one of her yearling fillies. I am only sending this because she doesn't know who did it and why, and I saw the filly myself. It is very close to my home and now I worry and fear for my herd, about something I thought I would never see in my life time. This individual(s) tied this yearling filly's back legs, and sliced her abdomen open. For what reason someone would conceive to do this is way beyond me. For reasons that I'm sure you all understand, I cannot post what I really want to say in response. My horse is boarded in Howell, and I am just beside myself with worry. Go check your horse, then give him a hug. Julie
