I was just wondering what yall do with your cams when you don't have a mare in foal? If you use them for watching babies and mommas? They would be great security cameras.

Wow..the possibilities are endless. I like to move one to my alleyway so I can watch what's going on in the barn on those days that I can't get down there - or at night when I just want to see what's going on. I move at least one (probably more this year) outside to watch the mares and foals. You can use them to sell horses - live feeds are much more accepted than a photograph - it shows manners and temperament. Show off your stallion for breeding purposes - stud bookings... There are sooooooo many things you can use these for. I actually caught two mares colicing on cam. WHY they chose to lay down in the area the cam was focused on is beyond me - guess their guardian angel was watching over them that day.

The uses for these cams are endless, when my last mare of the season foals I will turn the cam back to my pasture so everyone can watch the foals grow. I have used my cam so far for letting the buyers of my foals be able to watch their babies under cam grow and be weaned off till they are ready to go home , also have put my stallion under cam for people interested in using him on their mares. I have put my 7 week old colt Raffy who is for sale under cam a few times for people interested in him so they could see him in real time being handled and also be able to se both sire and dam under cam. I will be using my cam on June 9th for the I-M-B-A region 7 barn gathering I am having for the International Morab Registry so the IMR community that can not attend in person can turn computer on and watch what we are doing during the days events if they like, it is to bad my cam does not have sound that would be a nice touch for this event. So there are many many uses cam owners have the abilty to use them for when not watching mares about to foal.

oh wow I didn't think about all of that. I was wanting to get one but live 1.5 miles from the barn and the cams I seen don't reach that far.
thanks for answering

I really like the idea of putting the stallions and sale horses online actually... I also use them to keep an eye on the foals during weaning time.
