We are hauling Casper to a show about 3 hours from here on May the 12. I already have some polo wraps that he is used to. I am curious as to wether or not I can use the polos with the no-bow wraps or if I need standing wraps.
And are shipping boots better than the wraps with bell boots??
Thanks for any input, he hasn't been hauled in almost a year.

For really such a short distance the polo wraps and bell boots I think would be fine. I only use my shipping boots for long distances. Last year we hauled 6+ hrs last year and I put shipping boots on my mare and polo wraps and bell boots on our other and did great. Good Luck!!

Is the purpose of the wraps when hauling only to protect against bumping and banging? Will a horse get swelling in his legs from being hauled long distances?
Good luck at the show Amby! Pictures Pictures Pictures!!!

The ONLY reason I boot when hauling is because I don't want my horse stepping on themselves A and B. I don't want the other horse to step on my horse.........We hauled three mares from Idaho to Nebraska in 2005 it was a three horse slant and I was the only one who booted my mare, BUT she was the one in the middle. Not only did she have to worry about stepping on herself but had to worry about the other two mares getting her legs. It was a 23hr haul back (we did it straight through no stopping) and non of the mares got stocked up at all. We also did a haul from Idaho to OR last year and nobody got stocked up either.
