This owner is offering mare to anyone in her area that might need a nursemare.With her permission posting here.
hope this is not considered an ad, because I want no monies , only to help someone.
Today we lost a foal, but the mare is an excellent Mother who allows other's foals to nurse even when she has her own. She should love as well as care for an orphan. The foaling was this afternoon and I am milking colostrum to save should anyone need it and to help keep the mare in milk.
She is warmblood, 16.1 hands,19years old, has been a long time broodmare for me , and this was to be her last. We have been having problems for a few days and knew the outcome might not be so good. She is a super safe and kind to have around children and to take to shows etc. I have used her in the past to babysit foals of other mares that we started into work etc...
The only additional care the mare should need is Antibiotics short term, as the delivery was fast and fairly straight forward although a redbag.
She is slightly arthritic and should be kept on a Glucosamine supplement ( we used Next Level.)
This mare loves being a mother and it would make me happier knowing she gets to do her job a bit longer in a loving home where she is well cared for and appreciated..
