I was wanting to know if there was a way other than barb wire to keep a stallion from bending down my fence?
It is only my male that does it. I want to put him on the front pasture but I just put new fence up. He has bent the fence in the back up bad. We keep pulling it back up. I have water out there but no electric (I just rent it). I don't want to go with barb wire and am asking if there is another route I can take. My stallion is a very good boy and I am very proud of him but I don't know how to make him quit doing this.

If this were my stallion I would buy a solar electric fence charger and hook up at least one strand of hot wire. We bought a solar charger and I LOVE it! Barb wire WILL not prevent a horse from leaning on it, if they want to lean the only thing that will keep them from doing it is hot wire. Good luck!

Hi Patty !
We use Beoband 4 cm wide and as long as you like. There are special little machines that keep up the electrics, without you having electricity there. You should ask in a farmshop I think. Here you can buy these things also by catalogue. Maybe that exists in your country as well?

We bought ours at Big R which is I THINK pretty much the samething as a Tractor Supply Center. They are spendy but WELL worth the investment! We have never had ours fail on us even when no sun directly on if for days!! Good luck.
