Update is in line after several other messages.... The Murphy family at Seven Acres - Debi, David, and daughter, Christy - are in need of prayers. Christy (17, I think) is in ICU needing surgery for a kidney problem. They found a doctor who can do it Sunday at 8am, are hoping antibiotics will kick in and bring her fever down before surgery. And yeah, they have a mare on cam and if she goes into labor, someone will call Debi and she'll go home from the hospital to help with foaling. Their forum is at www.sevenacresfarm.com/forum/ and updates on Christy are in the "Seven Acres Barn Cam, News and Updates" section. I met Christy last spring and she's a daughter any of us would be proud of - just wonderful. As mother of a kidney patient, I feel for them so much - been there, but not with surgery. They have had a lot to deal with. Praying everything goes well this morning for them.

Barbara, bless you for posting that information. Our prayers and I'm sure the prayers of our entire forum, go out to them. If anyone gets any updates please post them here so we all know what's going on. It's 3:27 p.m. here. Certainly the surgery would be over by now. I hope we get an update soon.

Thank you for posting that Heather. I was wondering how poor Christy was doing. Glad to hear things are looking so much better. Keeping strong prayers going their way.

Mary Lou just called me here at work and told me about that - sure hope they get her heart rate regulated. Elinore from NJ had called me at home over the weekend to let me know Christy was in the hospital.
I am totally unable to get on Seven Acres MB! When I try to access it any usual way - like thru a browser, or even typing in the url - it tells me I'm logged in as Debi! - and it won't let me access the boards from that point. If I exit out of the MB at that point, go to the home page, and then click on the link there to the MB, it recognizes me as a guest and asks me to log in. It accepts my login, but then the MB does not show any current posts. ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

Carol, I haven't had any problems getting to the board, last night or today. I wonder if the computer you're on may still have the old message board address (which I found in one of my browsers yesterday too). This is the current message board - www.sevenacresfarm.com/forum/Good luck to you. I looked this morning (it's nearly 10am central) and there weren't any newer updates on Christy.

Well, Barbara - either your link has some magic to it, or someone finally fixed the problem, 'cause it WORKS!!! ;D I know I had tried that url before - along with another one - and NOTHING was working! ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Thank you - I just got in! ;D

Glad it worked this time, Carol!
Christy is doing better today (Tuesday). They took out the naso-gastric tube, which made her very happy; and she got up and sat in a chair in the room. Hopefully she'll be out of ICU soon.

Christy was moved to a regular room yesterday - the 19th. She was approved to transfer out of ICU on the 18th, but all the hospital beds were filled because of the flu outbreak. Only one extra day in ICU waiting for a bed.
Debi said she's back to being a normal 17-year-old - and they're all very happy. She'll be okay.
They sent thanks for the prayers and good wishes.

Barbara, thank you for keeping us posted on Christy's recovery. I think I read on the forum that her kidney actually ruptured??? I didn't know that was possible. I'm glad that she's recovering and acting like a 17 year old again.... ;D

I didn't see that, Heather. I've been watching for information on what happened, and surely wouldn't have missed something that major - if it was on the Seven Acres board. There would have been conversation about it with the chatty group we have.
Debi posted today that Dixie is testing 3.5 on the milk strips, and Christy continues to improve. Sounds like life is going back to normal for them.
I'm in northwest Arkansas for a few days - came up to go with my daughter to a new nephrologist to find out how her kidney (only has one) is doing, and guess we'll know when the test results all come back. There's not an urgent problem, thank goodness, but she'll need to be monitored every 6 months.

I have too been very interested in how Christy's is doing and am elated to hear she is doing better. She had a very special place in my prayers as I have a son who had a kidney rupture when he was four and we nearly lost him. I know exactly what Debi, David and Christy have been going through. My son is now 35 and doing great. However if it was posted anywhere that Christy's kidney ruptured I didn't see that. I wasn't sure what was wrong.

I did see on their board last night that her kidney had ruptured - that was rather shocking - I didn't know that was possible, either. BUT, she is doing well now. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
