Unfortunately, we are running out of room in our barn and with the addition of a new riding horse, Tucker and my mini stallion Renegade have to go.
I was planning on keeping him there until I could buy him myself and put him to mares within the next few years. It looks like I wont be able to.
I bought Renegade for my 15th birthday. I have had him for nearly 6 blissful years. I guess that would make him 7 or 8 now. Since then, he has been near and dear to my heart, seeing me through lifes toughest phases.. so much so that I believe he saved my life. He has been my constant and my hope, and seeing him go will positively crush me, especially if he goes to "just any" home. Those of you in minis know the awful stallion prices. If they arent ABSOLUTELY SUPERB proven show horses and studs, the rice just isnt what it should be.
Unfortunately, I didnt show Renegade much thanks to my lack of funds and interests in other things (Ahem, boys...), and he doesnt have bloodlines you ache for in a mini (his sire won 3 Champ of Champs and was National Top Ten, just not well known), so I know I wont fetch a huge price for him. Price isnt my concern. Its the right HOME. There is absolutely no reason for himto be gelded, as he has always been calm, graceful, and polite even when around mares, has never kicked, bucked, or bitten anybody, etc.
His temperament is what makes him what he is. I have never had a problem training him to do anything, or handling him around any other horses. He would make a fantastic gelding, of course, but there is the one minor lump in the road that is my DREAM of his foals cantering through my own pasture someday. Ive aimed for it, wished for it, planned for it, and waited for it, but what seems so soon in my grasp is now lightyears away or even completely demolished if he goes to a gelding home.
So I am asking, even begging, for all of you mini people out there to do me a favor. Print out some pics of Renegade. Show him to your friends, and ask them to show him to their friends. There is nothing in this world that would make me happier than someone taking this beautiful, kind stallion into their homes and pastures and reserving me a few breedings... or better yet, when they are ready to sell him, to sellback to me for twice his selling price.
Renegade is a 7 or 8 year old silver dapple bay stallion with some roaning spots. His sire is Goose Creek Farms Maverick, who is a chestnut pinto. Renegade is 29 1/2 inches close cut and 30 inches permanent on his papers. He has never been bred but will tease our older mare. He was shown lightly as a weanling and as a two year old successfully. He is solid in mind and body, never foundered, and is an easy keeper. You have to see his personality to believe it. He was jumping nearly two feet as a four and five year old, he long lines easily, halters, clips, bathes, stands for the farrier and the vet. The only thing wrong with this stallion that I can THINK of is that he had to have an extra tooth pulled so his front teeth are crooked but his bite is even and the vet says it isnt hereditary, his foals will have a correct bite.
He comes with:
A 2 yr old Designer Shiloh show halter in burgundy
training circingle, bridle, and long lines
his Halter
AMHR perm AMHA possible papers
I will be advertising him locally and through lilbeginnings. I am only going to put this story to this extent here, where I feel I know most of you. To all of you who have ever loved a horse, or had to let one go, you know how I feel.
We want $800 for Renegade if he will be going to a good home, please email me if you are interested, he is worth his weight in gold.
