I bet I flush out tinypony with this question, but maybe others of you know something, too. Can anybody give me some background on Prix Caprilli tests and virtues? Obviously, the idea comes from CT work, but I've never seen anything about it until a few days ago. All I can find on the Web are test samples and information that the work was developed by Lendon Gray. There are references to her site, but I can't find it.
I'm dragging hubby to a Prix Caprilli schooling show tomorrow, hoping to engage his interest in dressage by adding some jumps into the mix. Nothing else has worked, and both he and his horse are getting too old to behave like maniacs any more. Do any of you school Prix Caprilli? What do I need to know?

Oh hey, thanks! I'm especially glad for the link because we missed all the Prix Caprilli classes (horse problem at home), so I had to force poor hubby to sit (okay, stand) through several hours of dressage tests, and I'm still trying to revive him.
He loves the sound of wind whistling in microphones.

horsesdaily.com/whoswho/gray_lendon/index.htmlWell, I found this site on Lendon Gray, but in something else I researched there was a site about Federic Caprilli, about the method of dressage he created. I will find the link for you.

Ahhh. Well, of COURSE! Now I remember who Caprilli is. Pretty much everybody teaches his methods, now. Thanks again for running all this information down. The thing I miss most about boarding is all the Pony Club kids and their informative chatter. The one thing I haven't been able to figure out is whether the Prix Caprilli arena is standard USDF size or somewhat bigger. The arena where the classes were held looked larger than standard to me, but it was indoors and might therefore have been deceiving to my eye.

I saw alot of pony club stuff when I was looking for the info. As far as the Caprilli, sure looks very hard to me. I get confused in a W/T western pleasure class trying to remember what makes what move. Im getting better, but have TONS to learn. My horse is alot more complicated now since he has had so much training. When he was a 2yr old we won our first show. There were only 3 in the class, but I had never shown in my life and this was his first show. He was so easy when he only had 45 days under saddle. Seems like the more they learn, the more you need to learn to keep up with them or they get smarter than you. And believe me, he knows more than I do because he test's me all the time.

Every time you ride a horse, you are schooling it. :-)
(If only I could get hubby to understand that.)
