Gabby is eating normally, has developed some mild diarrhea and her white blood count is up slightly. They're not sure what's causing it, but they feel it's from her GI tract not being used for awhile and they'll monitor it over the weekend.
Hope is a SMART little girl and has decided to learn to nurse on her own - so the feeding tube is GONE!!!!! They have tried to milk Gabby every two hours and they aren't getting much, so they feel that Hope is nursing fine, plus she's gained weight since yesterday. Her joints haven't swollen anymore so they're leaving that alone. The x-rays showed a very small amount of fluid in her lungs., so they feel that IF she has pneumonia it's a very mild case.
The vets continually advise us that they are not out of the woods, but I feel that we may be close to bringing them home.
I can not even begin to thank everyone who has sent prayers, shared their concerns, given advice and have just been there to support us. Bless you!!!!!
We'll continue to keep you posted.

How wonderful to come on here and see good news on our girls. They are both fighters and come from good stock, so I know that it is only a matter of days prior to their return to family members. I am so pleased with all the response and support and pray that it continues for one and all concerned. Get it on LiL' Hope, drink on up. The more you drink the stronger you become. And Gabby girl, hang in there, just a few minor setbacks to remind one and all how quickly things can chance. Hugs and Kisses until your return.

What wonderfully hopeful news Heather, wonder if Prozyme could help Gabby, it is an enzyme mix supposedly supports the immune system and helps absorbtion of nutrients from food.
Prayers on going from So Cal

I apologize for the delay in updating you on Hope and Gabby. We were in NY this weekend for a 50th wedding anniversary and had some problems with phone signal. We missed two calls in a row from the vet because we dropped signal.
We called back but, being it was the weekend, all we could get was the answering service for emergencies.
We'll update as soon as we hear anything. I feel that, had it been critical, she would have called the house and left a message.
Thank you for your continued support.
