We'd like nothing more than to put Gabby and Hope together. When Hope is taken out of Gabby's sight, Gabby throws a fit, but if you put them together Gabby is mean to Hope and bites and kicks.
With all that Hope has already been through, it's unlikely that they'll ever be put together. Maybe when Hope is old enough...but by then Gabby will probably have forgotten her. Hope will go from where she is now, into the area with the weanlings, when we have some. Pepsi and Pippin are ready to be weaned and unfortunately, we've been advised by our vet to start weaning Tango from Vicki. Tango is only 2 months old, but she's draining Vicki and we're concerned about her health.
So, I hope that answers your question. I'd love to put them together, but at this time it doesn't seem very likely to happen.

awww well ,,,, if gabby is happy with hope in sites , so be it ,, she 's a long distance mom "kinda : lol .... they have come so far ,,, we are all so glad they are both doing well and are home where they belong ,,, I do however have a quetion heather . since gabby has been through so much with this little foal ,,, are you going to give her another chance in the future to be a mom again ? ,, I know I had read somewhere , you had said that you're going to give her a year off to work with her legs and such ,

No, Gabby will never be able to be bred again. She can physically be bred, but the doctors feel that she would go through the same thing again or it may just kill her. So, Gabby is a 3 year old pet with a long life ahead of her doing nothing but grazing and being a horse.

I think your'e a very good and lovely person Heather! I also shouldn't take the risk to let Gabby "mom again".. This is much better for Gabby, now she can stay healthy and be happy to play with the other horses and grazing all day long....
