Got a call at 4am this morning from my Mom - She checked the cam when she got up to get a drink of water and she thought Lucy was in labor. I guess Lucy was rolling in her stall. When we got up and checked it was right when Lucy was on the ground stretching her legs straight out as if she was pushing. Didn't bother to watch to see if it was just a stretch - we were outta there in a flash. False alarm though; so we spent the rest of the morning freezing in the barn keeping an eye on her while trying to get a little sleep before work/school.

;D It's a wonderful thing, isn't it? It's great peace of mind to know that someone else is watching.
And I can relate to how you felt - running to the barn, heart pounding, wondering if you're ready for this and you walk in and Lucy just looks at you as if to say, "wow, breakfast is early!" And then you were up all night because of the adrenalin running through your veins.
This is what Mare Stare is all about.....and it's a wonderful thing.

I'm sitting here with 4 screens up. Each mare has her fanny pressed against the wall. If it's their first foal, how did they know that that will relieve some of the pressure? I guess it's an instinct thing. It's a mare thang.
