Oh, Eveline! What a beautiful, precocious baby! Congratulations to you and to Wood Duck. Condolences to me because I went to bed at 1:30am, after seeing Eveline circle and yawn several times and thinking maybe this is it (and almost phoning). So I missed it! But this is a happy sight this morning. Fabulous!
Now I'm trying to guess whether the foal is a colt or a filly . . . .

Yeah, cute foal : ) I was up until 3 AM EST watching her, she looked ready to go but I was too tired to stay up any longer. So sorry I missed it!~ Will there be a replay available?

Hello Friesian fans. And thanks again for helping keep an eye on Eveline for me. She had a filly a little before 4am EST today. She went 328 days. I had watched Eveline from about midnight being very restless, yawning, rubbing her leg with her face, shaking her head, standing perfectly still in her stall in places she usually doesn't stand (she has her favorite place by her feed bowl, imagine that!), up, down, over and over. I got to the barn in time to watch the birth from before she even laid down. Three good pushes and the baby was here. She is very strong and active and they are both doing fine. Eveline is a wonderful mother and so far she is pretty good about me being with the baby. I'm not one to push that. I want to gain the trust of them both first. The baby loves to have her ears scratched, and her back scratched. If she loves it as much as her mom, I won't get much else done. But that is what I am looking forward to - and a good night's sleep! Keep watching. My little girl will just get cuter! I love these Friesians!

Eveline's filly is endlessly amusing and impossibly adorable! (I feel similarly about the imperial Eveline, but she is too dignified for these adjectives.) Does the filly have a name yet? She sure is full of opinions and goofy schemes! I laughed myself silly when she discovered reverse gear and employed it to back up repeatedly under Eveline's belly - the perfect scritchie dispenser. I'm so glad for the chance to admire these magnificent horses and their relationships with each other and with Debbie. You Friesian folks are a terrific group. Thanks!
