Are Friesans the horses that were in the Lord of the Rings movies? This may seem like a silly question but I loved those horses and wondered what they were. Thanks!

Check out this website. It tells a little about the horses in that movie. If you google "Horses in the Lord of the Rings" you will be surprised at how many websites come up! www.geocities.com/licia_north/horses.html

There were no Friesians in LOTR. But, there were Friesians in Alexander, Eragorn, 300, and many others =)

Hi devotee - here's another link for you It's a movie trailer - "friesian pearls" I can't wait 'til I can order it! www.frieseparels.nl/index.php?lang=en I tried to bookmark the english version, but if not, just click on the UK flag and then click' trailer'. Also, if you go to youtube and search for ''friesian stallion show' there are tons of videos that will give you goose bumps! Colt still at clinic. Doing so-so. Hopefully home early next week. First off, thanks for the update Fritza's wee one. I've been hitting your cam 5 times a day, hoping to see them happily home. You must feel as if all your assets are jacked directly into the clinic. Every time we've had a horse in "ICU" I've been able to feel the money being sucked from my life. I am rooting with all I've got for this colt to heal perfectly.
That trailer is awesome! I need to find out how I can order the dvd, too. I've seen some of the stallion shows on youtube. My poor dog is so bewildered by all my squealing over Friesians that he hides in the shower stall every time he hears Dutch. LOL!

Hi everybody, just wanted to post that yesterday morning our little colt went to rainbow bridge. He tried so hard, we all tried so hard to save him but it was not to be. His name would have been Ysbrând Fritza seems to be o.k., I do believe she knew. I will turn the cam on in a few days. Will be rearranging some some stalls temporarily and putting Trixie next to Fritza. Meribeth

Oh, Meribeth, I'm so sorry that you lost this battle to save Fritza's colt. I know you all fought heroically with everything you had, to give him every chance possible. Such a sweet colt, such a sad emptiness. My heart goes out to you.
I'm relieved to hear that Fritza is doing okay. Many times, horses do know more than we do about such things. I'm looking forward to seeing her on cam again, and hoping to catch a glimpse of Trixie.
