We are definitely having a boy year this year. Here is the list of who has foaled so far:
Sunshine bred to Boogie - bay colt - March 15th Song bred to Copy - Grey (?) colt - May 5th Starbrite bred to Copy - black pinto colt - May 5th Ladybug bred to Copy - black pinto filly - May 5th Doll bred to Bishop - buckskin colt - May 13th (mothers day) Tia bred to Copy - black pinto filly - May 14th
We have Misty Blue, Dakota Frost, Porcelain Doll and Nikki left to foal. If RJ is pregnant she will not foal until July - so that is a long way off - not sure if she is pregnant or pleasantly plump.

You had a filly yesterday and I missed it? I am so sorry. Congrats. I bet she is a cutey! Is there a huge demand for minis in SK? That is alot of babies in one year!

You had a filly yesterday and I missed it? I am so sorry. Congrats. I bet she is a cutey! Is there a huge demand for minis in SK? That is alot of babies in one year! We have had 4 of the 6 foals born during the day - that is really weird. I guess our girls didn't read the book that says the majority of mare foal at night!!!! There isn't really a market in Saskatchewan - but I have purchased some top bloodlines and will market these babies elsewhere. Our stallion is a National Champion in halter, liberty and colour - and we were lucky enough to purchase this boy. We have a young stallion that is out of champion lines - he will be used this year on a select few mares. Most of our mares have come up from the US - a couple of them have come all the way from Pennsylvania - others from Wisconsion, Illinois and North Dakota. We have really done a lot of research and have bought the best mares that we could afford. I bred and raised Old English Sheepdogs when I lived in Alberta. I had multiple best in show dogs - American and Canadian champions - and basically started my breeding program with the dogs the same way that I am doing it with the horses. I sold many show quality puppies to the US and also overseas - so the market wasn't local it was farther away - interesting how that works isn't it???!!!!!

Yeah that seems to be the way it goes. My mom breeds morgans and sells many out of province and sold some to the States.
You used to breed Old English Sheep Dogs?! They are such a beautiful dog! I would like to have one, but the grooming would be way to much as it would have to live outside. I will just keep admiring them in pictures!! LOL

Doll and her colt are so georgeous. Just love watching them. The colt sort of got on the other side of the rails today and once I called the owner he was there within seconds. I am sure the colt was a little nervous being on the wrong side but the owner soon got him back in with his mom and all is fine. I just love watching them. Maybe the baby will stay closer to mom now.
