from the man of the house... Still no foal for buttercup. Went out at 7 am to feed her and change bedding in shelter. While the kids say they could see her udder from behind for a week, this morning it looks like a cows from behind. First time I noticed it without looking hard and bending over to see it (she is only about 12.5 hands). when I felt the udder to check nipples it felt HOT to touch. Not warm or body temp, but definately hot. is this normal?

was out talking to her and hugging and generally loving on b-nut and as she was walking away I noticed her udders are larger and less firm than before. She is walking so slowly, too. But then she wanted to race the kids yesterday when they went out to see her in the afternoon.

Sometimes the udders change in fullness and firmness. Heat in the udder is a good sign, though! Best of luck with Buttercup! Let us know how things progress!

Just when I was out with her for a littlebit i was in her pen and she was getting very ansy(sp) and she kinda went up on her back legs and she scared me but we think that she was just getting kicked by the baby. But then I had her walkaround the perimeter of the pen. And she waswantingto race meagain and her vulva is opening someso who knows.
