Chat Rules:
SWEARING/CURSING – There will be NO swearing or cursing allowed in the chat room. If you accidentally slip up, a moderator may private message you to remind you, but please try to refrain from this, as this is a family-oriented site and members of all ages have access to use the chat room.
RESPECT OTHER USERS - There may be times that you may see something that offends you. But before launching into a public flogging of that individual, please take into consideration that they may not have intended to cause any offense with their words. Please don’t resort to insults and bashing. That will NOT be tolerated here. You can’t necessarily tell the tone words are ‘said’ with in print in chat. Use smilies to try to express the tone in your posts. Always be respectful of other’s views, even if you disagree with them. Also, respect the farms. Things go on behind the scenes that are not visible on the cams. We have to respect the rights and opinions of the cam/farm owners. When they shut a cam off, it is usually to discourage negative feedback….and usually when it’s left on during a bad birth it is met with praise and thanks for sharing a learning experience. Consider your words and thoughts before you share them. Make sure that they won’t be interpreted as being critical or mean. We do not want to discourage anyone from having a cam online. There are so many benefits to it and so many mares/foals have been saved with them.
SOUNDS – Please be mindful when using sounds in chat as there are certain ones that are used to alert people that a foaling is happening. Please refrain from using those sounds unless a foaling is actually occurring. (the people in chat will tell you which sounds to avoid) Also, during the height of foaling season, many die-hard mare-starers will actually sleep with the chat room on so those that are awake can set off the foaling sound to wake them if a foaling happens (especially for those not on the alert system). So PLEASE do not come into the chat room while people are sleeping just to set off sounds that wake them up. It makes them VERY GRUMPY!!!
MSC ROOM – This room is for meetings of the Mare Stare Cares staff and has a password, so that is why you can’t get in it.
