anyone have Wildblue satellite internet and a streaming cam? Any problems with the Fair Access Policy? I am considering hooking up with them to run my cam since my dialup is so slow I can't even watch the cams much less think of running mine with marestare using it!

I'm hoping you'll get some posts here because we do have customers on Satellite, but I'm not sure who the carriers are. We'd love to give it a try.

We have many customers who use it without any problems. Most of the load for the streaming cameras is on the MareStare Servers rather then the connection to the far, so I haven't heard of any problems. Wild Blue does not offer fixed IP addresses so you will need to setup the software for dynamic IP. Thanks, Bill Thiel www.BarnCam.com

We used WildBlue with our cams lastyear. It worked beautifully. We did have to move up to the highest plan though. We got VERY close to our allowed bandwidth one month but we run our own website too.

Thanks for the help. I went ahead with Wild Blue. Next month I will get my cam up and running with Marestare. If I am careful and just run the cam it probably won't go over the FAP.

I had my cam running for 10 days. With the lowest plan on Wildblue I went over my usage and was FAPPED but my cam still ran just fine! My internet was slowed down but was faster than dialup but not as fast as highspeed. It was worth the slower download to still have a decent upload so I could keep an eye on my cam from work. I would not have been able to run the cam using dialup from my house as my phone lines are ancient and I was lucky to get 28.8!
