How do you all snap screen shots? I know there are several different ways to do it and have read many of them in threads, but can we get a collection of alternatives here in one thread?
I currently have a free trial of Snag-It, which can be downloaded on the Web.

I do it the hard way LOL. I hit ALT and the print screen button (right of the F12 button) then I go into paint program and paste it there and then save it. But I would love the link to the software again.

Here's the link to try Snag-It. www.techsmith.com/download/default.asp(I have no association with the company nor am I recommending the software over any other. I'm just saying you can try it for 30 days, free.)

• Download the program Mwsnap from www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html . Install the software in your computer. • When you start using it, you might get black images, to get rid of this, go to tools in your windows media player click, options, performance, advanced and un-tick use overlays. • Start snapping shots on live streaming video and save images to your pc and select jpg format for your images • After you have saved your images you choose an image hosting site to host your pictures e.g tinypic ( www.tinypic.com ) photo bucket ( smg.photobucket.com/) or any of your choice. • Upload the pictures through your image host. • Compose a new message on the message board where you want your picture to appear. • Copy and paste or enter the IMG link manually e.g. 110.tinypic.com/40f66wl.jpg[/IMG). • Click the preview button to view your pictures before you submit, to check whether the pictures appears on your message.

I noticed that some of the cams, when you right click on it there is an option to take a snapshot. Is there something that we need to do to the cams setup to allow views to do this?

Star the Mare Stare cams don't allow you to do that. It's usually the We Foal cams that allow you to do it.

I was watching while Sequin foaled at Tintagel and noticed that this cam did allow you to take a snapshot. Found that by accident when I went to adjust the image size. www.marestare.com/tintagel2.htm

In order for the snapshot feature to work, BOTH the farm end and the cam page end have to be version 5.0. Eventually every farm will be able to take snapshots.

That's strange. Her cam should work no differently than any of the others. Were you trying to take a snapshot on a different computer? Have you upgraded your computer recently?

When you can't do a static screen capture, it is usually because the video card/driver in the system is replacing the video window with a hardware-accelerated version. Perhaps L & L is using a different setup than other farms. I will look into it.
